Once Upon a Time, ASMR was Just an Insomniac’s Dream

Thankful for ASMR Image and Microfiction (by Brenna Pierson)

Falling asleep in the ancient forest, she was thankful for the birds’ wings fluttering, for the leaves tapping on one another, for those speaking softly in the distance….

And she dreamt that in the future, this would be deemed “ASMR.”

Just thinking back to a time when there was no ASMR….

If you’re not familiar with ASMR, it’s worth it to look it up on YouTube — especially if you have trouble sleeping. It helps countless people sleep. It has the ability to relax the nerves and calm the senses.

What’s best is that it’s completely safe, using no medications or harmful, addictive substances. The worst thing that will happen is that you’ll fall asleep with YouTube on.

There was a time when everyone who could not sleep turned to medications, but that is no longer necessary. In this world of stress and overwhelm, something like ASMR is beyond valuable.
